C-Arm Machine
The
mobile C-arm system is used for fluoroscopy, an imaging technique that allows
physicians to view real-time images of internal structures. The patient
is placed between a radiation source and fluorescent screen, found on opposing
ends of the C-arm. The digital images are then
displayed on a monitor enabling a new degree of clarity and unprecedented fields
of view. East Carolina Neurology's physicians utilize this innovation in
technology to visualize the vessels and more accurately perform necessary procedures.
The use of a C-arm system is a preferred modality for pain management allowing
for minimal invasiveness, decreasing healing time because it is minimally invasive
which contributes a quick recovery. Other patient benefits include, the physician's
ability to minimize radiation dosages, as well as, the comfort of knowing that
every advancement in precision is being utilized. East Carolina Neurology's is
proud to offer the latest in imaging technology and patient care. Any questions
you may have about the C-arm system or any other equipment used by our physicians
will be answered prior to the procedure.
